Upside down weather

Today a friend of mine who lives in Cyprus posted a temperature update on her Facebook profile - apparently it's "45 degrees and rising" in Larnaca.

A number of her friends also did the same in response. Someone reported that it's low-20's in Sydney.

It's 23 degrees (and falling) in London, which means that we have pretty much the same weather as Sydney.

Difference is, of course, that it's the middle of winter in Australia.

At least London is still dry... I hear it's pouring with rain in Northern Ireland...

Yes, it is winter here, Tinsie. But hopefully in the next couple of weeks the weather will be warmer...can't wait. I'm in Brisbane, about 900 odd km north of Sydney.

Hi Tinsie!
Sorry for the long absence! But don’t you think it was a great vacation; some very busy weeks and just a few days off... ;)

This weather is driving us crazy, but no wonder for England: I've always heard that summer was a Thursday there... ;))

Meanwhile Blogtrotter is still turning around Iceland, now in Waterland... Enjoy and have a fabulous week!

It has been way too hot here in southern Italy, too, but today it's a lovely 26° celcius!

Nice and reasonably cool here, much to my delight. Summer is overrated.

@ Puss-in-Boots: At least you have better weather to look forward to... all we have ahead of us is (more) autumn...

@ GMG: Welcome back! You know what they say about English summer: it starts in July and finishes in August ;-)

@ Saretta: 26C sounds perfect, although I'd be happy with 36C myself.

@ Jeanette: 45C is about twice what we get normally. Talk about different planets :-)

@ Per Stromsjo: I'm the opposite, I love hot summers. Now autumn... that is surely overrated!

@ Shionge: At least you get the hot part. We just have cold and colder at the moment ;-)

..and you live there because...?

I wonder myself sometimes (quite frequently during the summer months, in fact)!

I guess because it's a great hopping-off point to so many great places?

That it certainly is :-)
