I know this sounds impossible but I swear I walked by this pub...I assume it's in the City?

How weird. At first glance it looks like a model village? the colourful building is so incongruous against the setting? great pic as ever!

That is so cool. I love the plants, love the building, love that it seems to be holding its own against those ugly highrises.

Totally missed Wednesday this week..not sure where it went. :-)

The cute building in the photo is the Albert, a pub on Victoria Street in London (Westminster). It was built in 1864 and by some miracle escaped whatever intervention transformed the surrounding area into the Land of Monster Government Buildings.

Betty, it's on the stretch between Victoria Station and Westminster Abbey, not too far from St James's Park and Buckingham Palace. Were you in that area at all?

Karen, I almost missed Wednesday this week too!

OK, I thought it looked like the City because of the buildings behind it, but I don't know that area so well. However, I do know Victoria Street very well! When in London, we always stay not that far from Victoria Station and have walked around that area you're talking about quite a bit. So chances are I have seen the same view.

If you've stayed in the area, you may well have come across it, esp. if you've walked from Victoria towards the river.
