Can you read my mind?

Do you know what I'm thinking??

How sweet. Is this a particular kind of house/cottage?

@ Anonymous: Never been to Rye, but I've heard good things too.

@ Karen: No idea.

@ Betty C: The clue is on the picture, but you have to enlarge it (and squint a little) to make it out.

@ Mandi: Just comes to show that appearances can be deceptive ;-)

I was thinking--

Wednesday already?

Ermmm... actually it's Friday today... it was Wednesday two days ago ;-)

Is this a type of railway house -- I'm not sure of the word in English -- "maison de cheminot" in French?

Tinsie said...

I thought it was a poste d'aiguillage in French (but I could be wrong). In English it's called a signal box. I think a maison de cheminot is a Station Manager's house or railway house in English.

No, I think you are right. I see the "signal" word now that I've enlarged the picture. So is that not any type of house at all? It looks small, but like somebody could actually live there. It seems to me that the "postes d'aiguillage" in France are more just like little shelters.

As far as I know, no one ever lived in signal boxes. I think it looks deceptively large, but it's really just the size of a large-ish office and a toilet. Have you seen my next post?

Betty Carlson said...

Yes, the photo does look large, like a cottage as I said! I'll look at your next post now.

It's sooooo cute.. it would make an ADORABLE studio!

Yes, I see what you mean :-)

However, it'd be quite noisy, being so close to the rail tracks. Probably shaky too!
