From Greek skepseis to random thoughts

Sometimes change happens when you least expect it and without having planned for it. I've decided to anglicise the blog address, so I've gone from http://skepseisdotcom.blogspot.com/ to http://www.randomthoughtsdotcom.blogspot.com/, essentially replacing the Greek word skepseis with its English equivalent thoughts and adding random in front (as I couldn't get plain throughtsdotcom on Blogger). After all, what goes in here is rather random, so the new title is quite appropriate.

If any of you have a link to my blog on yours, the link won't work any more unless you replace the old address with the new one. I'm really sorry for the short notice and the extra work involved in updating your blogs. I've been thinking about this for a long time and have kept putting it off, so today I've decided to carpe diem, so to speak, and go for it. I promise not to make any more changes in the near future.

As a nod to what was for almost two years, here's a picture of the Greek equivalent to English tea.

Mmmm makes me think of summer :-)

Hi Tinsie, here I am trying to recapture your last posts on my weekly visit, and now I know why I couldn't get here... ;)
Skepeis had more charm, though... ;))
Also loved the daiquiris that came with the (no)eclipse..., but did not take the cluttered test...
Thanks for your comments at Blogtrotter, where I’m still strolling around the streets of Sofia.
Have a great weekend!

I'll make the changes -- sidebar and Google Reader.

BTW, what is the first photo? Looks lovely, whatever it is!

Love both drinks. Yum actually already had a nice espresso freddo today so a cup of tea sounds lovely.
Another question: How do I put a link with your blog on my blog? Remeber still new at this. Surprised I can remember to log on.

@ GMG: I'm afraid charm had to be sacrificed in the name of functionality.
I loved your posts on Sofia - esp. the photos of the churches!

@ Betty: It's afternoon tea - one of the nicest British traditions. A pot of tea, cucumber sandwiches (not pictured) and cakes (in this case, fondant fancies), all served on beautiful English china. Ahhhh!

@ Indie: Go to the Dashboard, click on Layout -> Add and Arrange Page Elements -> Add a Page Element -> Link List -> Add to Blog. From there on, it's fairly self explanatory.

I'd love a cappuccino freddo :-)

Those "fondant fancies" are beautiful!

Lost you for a few days there! Glad you're *back*!

Do they really do this every afternoon in England? We did Kaffee und Kuchen in Germany, and let me tell you, it's easy to pack on the pounds that way!

@ Betty: Τhey're not usually as fancy as that (pun intended). These ones are rather special.

@ Karen: It's nice to be back ;-)

Well, we drink tea all day long (for breakfast, 11's, pre-lunch, lunch, post-lunch etc.) but afternoon tea is for special occasions only. Most hotels, country pubs and tea shops serve afternoon tea, which can be a simple affair of tea and (English) scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam, or an elaborate feast with mini-sandwiches, cakes, scones, even strawberries and champagne. All the luxury hotels in London offer the latter type. Afternoon tea at Claridges is supposed to be exquisite :-)
