We're off to Paris!

Just for the weekend, but I'm really excited! Even the poor weather forecast isn't going to dampen my spirits. After all, a 40% chance of precipitation doesn't necessarily mean it will rain, does it? But I suppose it means I should take a cardigan and proper shoes with me, and not just sandals, as I was planning to. Oh well, forewarned is forearmed and all that.

At least I have plenty of shoes to choose from. Up till now I'd admit to 40 pairs, although I suspect I have a few more than that (ahem). Then I read in this month's Cosmo that 2.5 million UK women admit to owning at least 30 pairs of shoes. I suspect a few of those (2.4 million perhaps?) must own more than 40 pairs. Which is grand, because it means I've got nothing to be ashamed of. I'm just average, really :-)

Salut mes amis :-)

We're in Paris and guess what, the weather's lovely! No rain, just glorious sunshine and the occasional (much welcome) cloud to give us some respite from the heat. Last time I was in Paris was last August, and the weather we're having now is identical to the weather then.

Which begs the question, why did the forecast talk of rain?!

Have a good time!

Are you riding on that kickass looking train in the photo?? ...must be FAST!! Say hello to the Chunnel for me.

We don't have cool trains like that over here. BOO HOO. Japan has neat trains also.

Thank you Shionge, Shadowfalcon, Daniel. We had a great time in Paris - although it did rain in the end!

Daniel: Yep, that's the train we took. Cool, huh? It's pretty fast too. In France it runs at 300 km/h (186 mph) - so fast that whole villages fly past in seconds. I love it.

At the moment, I own more shoes than I've ever owned before - because I've started a new job and I'm trying to look smart ha ha. So I must have - oh - er - two pairs of sandals, two pairs of shoes and a pair of trainers. Oh and a pair of white pumps. That's it.

Actually, I usually only buy new shoes and clothes when the old ones are falling to pieces.

Hope Paris was as beautiful as they say it is in the spring...

Well... I don't buy clothes very often either, but shoes just seem to call my name every time I walk past a shoe shop.

I resist them as much as I can, but sometimes the pull is way too strong ;-)

Paris was indeed stunning. I'll post photos as soon as I get a chance to sort through them, as I've taken more than 200 in total!

I spent the weekend in Tours, and we had the same beautiful weather you did.

It was funny to read about your "40% chance of rain." I realized we say that in the States too, but in France, I've never heard the "chance of precipitation" concept.

Hi Betty! Funnily enough I read that on the Weather Underground website, which I think is American. No wonder they got it wrong ;-)
