@ Karen: The skies aren't ashy at all. They're bright blue and beautifully clear. I'll take my camera with me when I go to the supermarket in a minute and snap some shots en route to show you.
Thanks for clarifying. I came back for a second look and it still looks like a street sign to me! I guess I don't know much about the British countryside...

As with most things in Britain, signage can be somewhat quirky. Ahem.
Reminded me of the Sakura season in Japan :D
I think this one is a pink magnolia tree, but I could be wrong.
