Come again? once more

Yesterday I bought a pack of DVD+RW discs at the supermarket. On them was a yellow sticker with the following cryptic message:

Remove film before putting in microwave

What's even more mind-boggling is that ALL the packs on the shelf had the same sticker on.

I was only planning to use the discs in my computer's DVD drive, but perhaps there are other uses that I'm unaware of?

Although to be honest, after the earlier incident with the order that had been updated to the status Archive, I'm starting to wonder if I've reached that time in life when the world stops making sense? *shudder*

The check-out girl took the sticker off, otherwise I'd be showing you a picture of my microwaveable DVD discs.

Hi Tinsie! That will probabbly be the only way not to grow fat using microwaves... ;))

Huh?

I think in many ways the world has stopped making sense, but this is extreme. I think what it really means is that people of less-than-average intelligence are being put in positions far too advanced for their abilities. You know, like putting appropriate stickers on merchandise..

I think I would be more comfortable knowing that this was part of a teenage joke.

@ Trotter: Hahaha you're right :-)

@ Karen: Yes, I guess that's quite likely. Scary though.

I think I prefer the teenage joke theory.

The DVD's would probably have checked out permanently (as opposed to just being updated to the status Archive) after being put in microwave so the check-out girl wisely checked this out before your becoming updated to the status Checked Out once the ramifications of that piece of film had been checked out and the film consequently updated to the status Archive.

A thought in a nutshell. Admittedly a large nutshell, but anyhow...

I have faced such situations too..we have to sometimes put up with people who are not having all the calibre required to execute a job.

@ Per: Nutshells come in all shorts of sizes ;-)

@ Cherry: That was very carefully phrased, I must say!
