Last weekend I placed an order on the internet for a new outfit which I'm hoping will arrive by Friday.
The supplier sent an email to confirm my order and everything seemed fine. I was expecting another email today or tomorrow advising me of dispatch and giving me an estimated delivery time.
What I got instead was an email with just one line of text. It said:
Your order has been updated to the status Archive.
Any idea what that might mean? Like, in English? I hope it's not code for "we've messed up your order and you're never to see the items, or your money, again". That would be heartbreaking.

Archive?
Is there a phone number you could call? This email does not inspire confidence that you'll see that outfit on Friday.
That's scary! One could hope it's codeword for "we sent it", but it still sounds ominous!
Give em a call, see what happens. Either your money or outfit should end up in your hands.
I emailed them to ask them what the cryptic message meant. They replied with the following note:
It meens your order was processed, your order is out for delivery today between 15.42 and 16.42.
Now, I took this to mean my order will be delivered this afternoon. I'll have to wait and see if the buzzer rings in the next hour or so.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, I really need that outfit!
It sounds like a techy autoreply. I shall I ask my IT bods at work and revert back ;)
Panic over! The buzzer went at exactly 16:12, my package arrived as promised and the outfit is perfect :-)

Not risque at all - it's a ski suit! Apart from being bright pink, it's very very demure.
