Signs of the times

You know you're homesick...

...when you put up your Xmas decorations on 9th January to celebrate new year's eve again with your friends. The neighbours may think you're mad, but who cares.

You know you've had too much of the white stuff...

...when you see snow falling from the sky and your first thought is that people won't be able to come to your party if the roads ice over.

You know it's too cold...

...when you decide to store your cold drinks on the balcony rather than the fridge, and it works because the temperature on your balcony is way lower than that of your fridge.

Happy new year -- once more! If you're in the UK, make sure you wrap up warm. It looks like it's going to be another frosty night. Brrr.

Happy New Year, Tinsie and I hope you're not too homesick...or cold.

Put on something warm and fuzzy...think warm thoughts!

@ Puss-in-Boots: Feeling better today, after we had a proper new year's celebration :-)

@ Saretta: It's not so cold today after all, it's a balmy 1°C at the moment - hotter than it's been in days! Even the snow's starting to melt.

Tinsie,
Happy New Year...its pretty cold right!!..do you remove all the decorations and do it all over for Xmas?

Tinsie said...

@ Mediterranean Kiwi: Worry not. You're unlikely to see any snow in the centre of town, except perhaps in the parks.

@ Palmtreefanatic: Thank you :-)

@ Cherry: Very cold indeed, although warmer today than yesterday. We had no Xmas decorations this year. They only went up yesterday for the new year party we had.

Bah Humbug, I was hoping for enough snow to have a day or 2 working from home so I could go outside and build a snowman or several. Sadly we have had less than 5mm of snow here in central London.

Happy New Year Tinsie!! I hope the snow/ice didn't stop your friends joining the celebrations this weekend! I'm sorry I couldn't make it, I had an 18th bday party to go to (family celebration so I didn't get barred for being too old!). See you very soon, Sandi xxx

Greetings, Tinsie! I'm visiting you from over at Karen's blog and thought I'd introduce myself. Ah! I'm so glad I did!! What a great blog!

Do you live in England? How FUN!!! Perhaps we'll meet in person one day... in England... (or Greece? smile.)

Tinsie, meet Sharon. Sharon meet Tinsie. As with Rani, I've never actually met either of you! Not yet, anyway.

Tinsie--do you at least have a date for going home? Something to look forward to? I hope so.

What a joy to read. Living about 3,000km far from home it was this Sunday that I started the year once again:

Please have you a wonderful Tuesday and a whole year as well.

So, do you prefer the moist and muddy state of things or is this a nice break from normality?

@ Loops: I guess that's the problem with living/working in central London, the white stuff don't stick ;-)

@ Sandi: Most people turned up, just one bailed out due to the snow, so all in all can't complain.

@ Olson Family: Hi Sharon, great to see you here! I've been meaning to attempt to connect with the people from Karen's blog, in fact I'm pretty sure I've visited your blog some time ago. I'll sure be back :-)

@ Karen: Soon, soon I hope!

@ Ρόμπερτ: Glad to hear it's not just me ;-)

Happy Tuesday & rest of the year to you too!

@ Per Stromsjo: We've not experienced moist and muddy yet, we're still in the frozen and slippery stage. It's pretty to look at but not so much fun if you have to venture out.
