Santa has landed

Honestly he has. I took this photo at my local supermarket earlier today. Only 87 days, 11 hours, 48 minutes, and 54 seconds left until Christmas - better start shopping, you don't want to leave it to the last moment now, do you?

Perfectly ridiculous! Where are those protest movements when one needs them?

Thank God we don't actually celebrate Christmas, but I do prepare gifts or Christmas cards (at least) for our close friends who are celebrating. So, I'm on it....Mmmmm... What should I get for Tinsie?.....

@ Per Stromsjo: Indeed! I'd like to know where they are too. Perhaps I should start one ;-)

@ Shanny: What? You mean you've not bought my present yet? Tsk tsk tsk! The clock's ticking, that's all I'm saying...

ACK. I went to Costco on Friday and thought of you. Santas as far as the eye could see. I guess Halloween didn't give the reprieve I'd hoped for.

Also, I can't help but think of what all that chocolate will taste like when it's time to finally eat it.

Hi Tinsie!
Just 87 days? these guys are crazy or what? ;))

Blogtrotter is visiting Old Town Antalya in Turkey. Enjoy and have a glorious week!

@ Karen: I think the idea is that you eat this chocolate now and buy some more (emphasis on more) for Xmas ;-)

@ Radka: Thank you! I also only take pictures for fun and joy - isn't that the best reason?

@ GMG: 86 days now. I hope you're making preparations!

Oh my, already? It seems to me maybe you posted something similar before (another year.) Well we all know how the Brits love their Christmas. I think Americans stave it off a little more because of Thanksgiving.

Isn't it totally ridiculous! It's not even October...yet they bring out the Christmas goodies alreay. I think it gets earlier and earlier each year!

Tinsie said...

@ Betty C: I think I post something about this every year, just to vent my frustration :-)

@ Puss-in-Boots: October? My Unicef Christmas catalogue arrived on 1st August. Hmph.

Ridiculous!?! I also heard that the 'best before dates' on some of these seasonal products are before the actual official time! they should change the terminology to " ramp up to Xmas -products" OR "getting you in the mood for Xmas"... honestly, what next!?

wow! keeping track?
im soo NOT ready for all that!

Tinsie said...

@ Sandi: I don't know if that's true or not, but even if the best before date is in three years from now, it's still ridiculous to sell Xmas products in September. BTW have you seen the Eid "advent" calendars just out? Maybe *that's* what's next!

@ Shionge: He has already invaded the UK and US. Your turn is coming soon. Be afraid, be very afraid.

@ Palmtreefanatic: Me keeping track? On the contrary, I'm doing my best to forget about Xmas till after Guy Fawkes night, but no luck :-(

This is just nuts! Well, actually, it looks like chocolate.

Christians didn't celebrate Xmas for the first 400 years; how 'bout we go back to the "good ol' days"?

unbelievable - we are still ins short sleeves and shorts...

Tinsie said...

@ Jacob: Nuts and raisins and total insanity ;-)

@ Mediterranean Kiwi: So were we when the first Xmas stuff hit the shelves... back in early September...
