St Paddy's day

OK, it's not quite St Patrick's Day yet, but the London celebrations took place today and we had lovely weather for them too. I missed the parade, but got into town just as the main festival was kicking off at Trafalgar Square. These are some of the photos I took.

In the spirit of the day, I have purchased some Irish soda bread and I'm now off to make my favourite Irish hotpot for dinner. Mmmmm!

Hey, I wish I had some hair so I could colour it green like that! :D

A couple of thoughts:

First was, "Oh crap, did I really miss St. Patrick's Day?"
Second was scrolling back up to see if your avatar had green hair. :-)
Third was Irish Hot Pot, mmmmmmm, I'm going shopping tomorrow!

@ Per: You could always paint your scalp and face instead ;-)

@ Karen: I couldn't get green hair on my avatar, so I had to settle for my usual black. The hotpot turned out really nice!

@ Palmtreefanatic: Have I given you an idea for a new hair project?

Cool! I had never actually thought about its being celebrated in London! Certainly there was nothing going on in France -- at least not here in Aveyron. Probably in big cities, though. Nice photos!

@ JM: It was :-)

@ Betty C: St Paddy's Day is pretty big in London. 10% of its residents have Irish roots - and it seems most of them are willing to wear silly hats and get drunk in public at least once a year!

Ok, that makes sense.

Did you know that more people celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the USA than anywhere else? All those Irish immigrants have left their mark?

I didn't know, but it makes perfect sense :-)

Great photos from the festival. Thanks for visiting and commenting mine too! I can tell it was a bit warmer there than in Oslo, Norway :-)

Yeah, it was almost like summer! Nothing like last year's weather (or what's normal for the time of year for that matter).
