Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Leaving London yesterday morning, the taxi driver who took us to the airport asked where we were going, and when we said "Greece" he asked if it's warm in Greece at the moment. When I said, "no, it's snowing" he looked quite surprised. Well, I can assure you it is indeed freezing cold (-2°C/28°F at the moment) and very very white. Here are the photos to prove it :-)

Is this unusual?? I swear, every place on God's green earth EXCEPT VIRGINIA had snow for Christmas. You can imagine how upset the Monkey was.

I imagine most of this will be gone before I can say "globalisation"?

No snow but quite a lot of decorative frost in Stockholm at the moment and that's just fine by me.

@ Karen: I wouldn't say it's common, but it's not unusual either.

I can totally feel for the Monkey. Christmas in London was totally snow free, too. It always is. In fact, I've not had a white Christmas since I stopped spending Christmas in Greece - but I've had more than my fair share of wet ones!

@ Per: Don't count on it. It's been snowing on and off for days and it's still very white out there :-)

Throw a snowball for the Monkey! I hope you're having a blast, and that St. Basil brings you something nice!

It hasn't snowed in Athens yet but I hope it does on the 7th or 8th so I don't have to go into work:-) I love it when is snow because everything closes down with a few inches of snow. Keep your fingers crossed. Hope to see you before you leave.
