The food diaries: part 5 - Eurostar

Since we're not going anywhere fancy this weekend either, I thought I'd console myself by dedicating part 5 of the food diaries to train meals.

This is what breakfast and dinner look like on the Eurostar, the train that connects the UK with France and Belgium via the Channel Tunnel.

Dinner may not look too appetising, but it was rather nice, as I recall. The main course was some kind of beef dish with sweet potato mash and (admittedly overcooked) green beans.

I totally loved that mini bottle of vinaigrette. Nice touch, Eurostar people!

Interesting. I didn't even know you got food on the Eurostar. It looks a little better than the airplane food I've been getting the past few years...

It's only in 1st class. You normally get nothing at all (well, not unless you buy it yourself at the buffet car, which actually serves better food than many airlines). On that occasion, work were paying for me to enjoy these lovely meals :-)

It doesn't look all that appetizing, Tinsie! I guess compared to all your other food diaries, it's just, you know, train food.

I know it looks positively unappetizing, but it was actually rather good! Better than most airline/train food for sure.
