The Kite Runner

There is a way to be good again

I bought Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner a long time ago but haven't yet got round to reading it. Tonight Loops and I watched the movie. What can I say - it's probably the most beautiful and moving film I've seen in a long time.

The next book I get a chance to read will be The Kite Runner. If it's half as good as the film, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

I was thinking of watching the film in the cinema a few weeks ago, but I didn't. It's still showed, so maybe I will go, instead of another blockbuster!

Better!... you're in for a treat.

@ Gkriniaris: Definitely watch it while it's still on. It's so much more satisfying than a blockbuster.

@ Daniel: Jolly good! Can't wait :-)

Thanks for the recommendation. If I don't get the chance to watch it in the cinema I will definitely get in on DVD.
You should rent the Whalerider. It is a fantastic film> I loved it. Very touching.I am thinking of showing it to my students at the language school.

The book was fantastic! I have not seen the movie yet, but I hear that it is not as good as the book. You should also check out his second book, A Thousand Splendid Suns. It was very different than Kite Runner, but also very good.

I suppose no movie lives up to a really good book. I've not read The Kite Runner yet, but the movie was so good my expectations of the book are even higher than before. I hope it lives up to them :-)

I'll keep the Thousand Splendid Suns in mind too. Thanks for the recommendation!

@ Shadowfalcon: Same here. But I can't wait to read it now that I've seen the film.

@ Loops: I can't believe you forgot!! Get thee to Waterstone's asap. We can read it simultaneously and compare notes :-)
