Memory loss

Yesterday was our 7th wedding anniversary. Both my husband and I failed to remember it. I even wished my cousin a Happy Birthday (prompted by Facebook) and I know my cousin's birthday falls on the same day as my wedding anniversary, of course I do, but the significance of the date just didn't hit me.

I only know it was our wedding anniversary yesterday because my dad called me a minute ago with belated wishes. Shocking or what?

That's funny. I have a friend who is in the same situation. It is more likely she (and her husband) will forget her anniversary rather than remember it. Well, it seems you now have a great excuse to do something nice like a romantic dinner. Our anniversary is tomorrow - I hope I don't forget! Happy belated Anniversary!!

Hilarious!

My parents argued every single year (they were married for 46 when my mom died) over whether their anniversary was Sept. 5 or 6. It became a great family joke over the years, and we would call on both days with our good wishes.

Oh, Happy Anniversary to you both ;) Hope, when you realised, you had a lovely evening xx

@ Susan Mo: Thank you, and happy anniversary to you! Hope you remembered ;-)

@ Karen: We had our wedding rings engraved with our wedding date (and our names, lest we forget who we are) so there's no debate about the facts. It's the actions that we're falling short on. Sigh.

@ Sandi: Thanks! We actually didn't do anything special in the end, we figured since we forgot to celebrate we might as well not bother. We'll have a double celebration next year instead.

Oops! I thought it was only men who forgot wedding anniversaries. Anyway, happy anniversary to you and your husband.

I always forget it, my husband never ! Usually it's the other way around, lol !

I have a new meme for Mondays "What did you do this weekend" and wonder if you would like to join in ?

@ Puss-in-Boots: Says something about stereotypes, doesn't it? Or perhaps it says more about me! I'd rather not contemplate the hidden meanings :-D

@ Gattina: I love memes! Thank you for inviting me. Already done :-)

@ ShadowFalcon: We didn't. We figured since we forgot, we'd let it go - and celebrate double next year.
