We've...
eaten the last of the mince pies
drunk copious amounts of Glühwein and Aquavit, along with several cans of Carlsberg and a few bottles of Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon
eaten more turkey than the rest of the year put together: roast turkey, cold turkey, turkey sandwiches, turkey stew (enough said)
watched Love Actually - along with the Matrix trilogy (well, hubby watched the trilogy, I watched Keanu Reeves)
been to the Christmas market - twice
listened to and sung carols
met up with friends for Christmas drinks
pulled crackers, laughed at silly jokes, wore paper hats and played board games
spent time with the extended family
sent and received Christmas cards
exchanged presents
eaten more satsumas, nuts, chocolates, biscuits, cakes and puddings than it's possible without bursting
Things that we've not done (must make note for next year):
We've not...
put up a Christmas tree or any Christmas decorations at home
seen a Christmas pantomime
watched the Queen's speech (Ooops!)
Looking at this list, I'd say all in all Christmas has been successful. Roll on the new year!

Listening to a monarch wouldn't make my top-500 list of things to do but that's just me... ;)
Turkey stew?
Watching the Queen's speech on Xmas day is a British tradition. It's not as bad as it sounds. We would have watched, but we got carried away opening presents and missed it.
The stew part I have no problem with, it's the turkey part that I hate. Yuck.
Yep....Roll them quickly ;D
Happy Cheers Tinsie :D
Christmas crept up so quickly that, like you, I didn't put up a tree either. No time!
I've read, eaten, slept, read some more, slept, watched a bit of TV...just total bliss from my normally busy and organised day.
Happy New Year to you.
@ Shionge: My feelings exactly :-)
@ Puss-in-Boots: I think that's the problem when you don't start preparing for Christmas until the last minute - you run out of time to get it all done :-/
I've slept a lot during this holiday, too. I don't know why I didn't add "sleeping" to the list. I should have, it's taken up enough of my time!
Interesting.
Wish you Happy and Prosperous New Year.
And tonight it starts all over ! I mean the eating and drinking, at least it is so in Belgium !
Happy 2010, Tinsie!
Tinsie--
The Wonder Hub is busy planning our anniversary trip for 2012. We're going to Greece! When you have the time, would you email me your suggestions/must sees/insider tips? We plan on a 14 day trip.
Perhaps we'll be meeting in Greece rather than London??
Hope you have a wonderful New Year - Happy 2010!!
Happy New Year, and don't worry much about the Queen's speech. You can always check it out on YouTube ;)
@ Gattina: Alas, not here! NYE is a fairly soulless day with very little eating involved. Some people make up for it by drinking far too much, but it's not the same...
@ Karen: I could do a whole post about it! What time of year are you thinking of going, and what are you most interested in (cities, museums, ancient ruins, partying, beach time, islands, mountains)?
@ Marg: I know, but it's not the same ;-)
Happy new year to all!
I would say that we're interested in:
ancient ruins, beach time, islands, mountains.
We're looking at two weeks in early June of 2012, which will coincide with our 10th anniversary.
Excellent choices on all counts :-)
Have you looked through my other blog with the photos? Is there anything that looks interesting?
Yea, it looks like the holidays are over for another year. I think this year I will start saving/shopping early on in the season and try hard to get in the spirit of things as much as possible.
I guess you simply had a blast on Christmas.
@ Sean: Just don't start too early ;-)
@ Exposemaximum: LOL! I guess you could say that.
