Comfort food

This weekend we've experienced the first proper wintry weather of the season. We even got a sprinkling of snow on Sunday morning, which was lovely while it lasted (not long enough to take photos, as by the time we got up around 9:30 AM it was already disappearing fast). As neither of us felt like braving the elements, we spent the whole Sunday cooped up indoors, watching videos and eating comfort food.

This is the sausage and potato hotpot I made for dinner. It was delicious with a glass of white wine and a thick slice of freshly made bread. Greek "summer" feels so far away at the moment, even though it was only earlier this month.

I never really knew what a hotpot was...still don't, really. A type of stew?

And what are "gallee sausages?"

Interesting, and looks good!

i can feel your sense of loss that the summer is over
ever since i moved to greece, i realise what a good effect sunny weatehr has on people - no matter how much i like to be indoors, it does not do any good for the morale in my family.
that hotpot looks delicious

That looks outstanding! I'm hungry and in need of someone to cook (and do laundry!) for me.

Glad to see food photos again!

@ Betty: Yep, it's a stew with meat and potatoes. Galtee is a brand name (I think). I just used regular pork sausages. The dish is really easy to make, and tastes amazing. You should try it :-)

@ Medirerranean Kiwi: Tell me about it...

@ Karen: Well, yes, I have to admit the no-food-pictures resolution was very short lived.

If you find someone to do the laundry, please send them over to me. They can do the cooking too, and the cleaning :-D

Tinsie--found three (unwilling) laundry helpers...now my clothes are clean but folded so badly that I'm looking like the laundry was never done in the first place.

Should I send one (or two) over?

@ ShadowFalcon: I know - I was so excited but it melted so quickly! Sniff.

@ Karen: Send all three, I'm not fussy ;-)
