Lovely flowers. Are you sure you took the photos in the UK? :-) It still feels and looks like December where I am. :-(

Glad you liked them, ladies!

Pamsie, they're not from the UK, they're from Greece. My mum's garden, to be exact :-)

Stunning Flowers! We don't do anything for May Day here. It is hardly recognized. I remember once as a kid that we created flowers for our parents in school. We were supposed to leave the flowers by our front door, ring the doorbell, and hide. I did that for my mom, but wound up tripping as I was trying to run away. My mom opened the door to her kid crying in the bushes with a skinned knee! I do think she liked the flowers when she finally saw them.

I LOVE May Day! We used to make little baskets, fill them with treats and put them on our friends' doorsteps, then ring the bell and run. Nobody does that anymore. :-(

Hi Tinsie! Still in Greece?
Lovely flower pictures and yum yum cakes... ;))
Thanks for your comment on Blogtrotter, where I’m exploring a new country now. Surprise! ;)
Hope you have a great weekend!

Back in the UK now and the weather's picking up at last :-)

The Greek custom is that you make wreaths out of wild flowers, which you then hang on your front door. The wreaths eventually dry out and are burned in special bonfires in June.

We're finally having spring here too, and the weekend was lovely. I really want lovely weekends for the next two months -- after that, I'll be off to the USA for the summer! Also a little rain would be nice but DURING THE WEEK!

In fact, *in the night* during the week would be even better! Shame it doesn't often work like that ;-)
