It's Pimm's time

Finally, summer has made an appearance again after a couple of weeks of dire weather, not to mention yesterday's mini winter. I've been out to lunch with my girlfriends (sex-in-the-city-style) and it was almost too hot by early afternoon, so instead of going to the shops afterwards as per the original plan, I popped into the supermarket, picked up some Pimm's & Lemonade cans, oranges, lemons, cucumber and strawberries, and came straight home. I couldn't find any mint, but I'll make do. I love hot weather. Cheers everyone!

P.S. On the train, I sat opposite a guy who wore a T-shirt with the following slogan in block capitals: I [heart] PORN I MASTURBATE. Surely even a horrendously hot day is no excuse for such honesty?!

That t-shirt is *crazy*. He is clearly insecure and pretending to be tough/cool.

PS I love Pimms but impossible to get here!!

Or perhaps it was just a careless stylistic moment - the whole time I sat opposite him he didn't look at me once, he kept gazing out of the window even though he had an aisle seat and there was nothing much to look at outside.

There is Sex in the City in Oslo too (I'll post about it tomorrow), but glad I didn't saw any t-shirts of that kind!

wow! never seen a shirt like that! I would never have the nerve to wear something so vulgar!

I think hot weather is great too!

As for the T-shirt, ONLY in Great Britain! I'm sure of it!

If you like hot weather you should have spent the most recent week in Stockholm.

Yo Tinsie, I'll drink to that :)

What a turn-off to see someone wearing that kind of crap ;(

Hi Tinsie! Back home and profiting from the Portugal’s Day holiday, I’m trying to catch up your posts. Pimm's is a summer treat, probably not for your «candid» fellow traveller... ;)
Well, seeing your kitchen experiences, I think I'll invite you both for dinner when you come to Lisbon... ;))
Thanks also for your comments at Blogtrotter, which has now landed in Santiago de Compostela, Spain!
Hope you enjoy, and have a nice rest of the week!

I would have HAD to ask him about the shirt. I'm not sure exactly what I might have said, but I know I couldn't have kept my mouth shut.

Hey, I can't find the post where I asked about your American travels. Did you tell me where you'll be?

@ Rennyba: Can't say it was the highlight of my day either...

@ Palmtreefanatic: Yep, it was a first for me too.

@ Emperor Ropi: Weird doesn't begin to describe it!

@ Claire: Nyom indeed :-)

@ Betty: Are you saying something about the Brits?!!

Tinsie said...

@ Per Stromsjo: I know! I've heard the weather's been glorious over in Scandinavia and I'm very jealous :-)

@ Shionge: Tell me about it.

@ GMG: Dinner sounds good to me :-D

@ Karen: You know, he never looked at me once? If he had I'd probably have talked to him about it too. Haha. But he was looking out of the window as if his life depended on it. I wonder why...

It wasn't me who was going to America, I think it was Betty C. I'll see if I can find the post for you.

@ Karen: Found it here :-)

I've heard so much about Pimms that I really have to try it. Sounds delicious. The T-shirt was a bit much. I saw a guy wearing a cool T-shirt on the Metro a few days ago. Save the Planet: It's the only one with chocolate on it. I loved it and it's so true:-)

Awwww I'd definitely wear *that* T-shirt :-)
